The Army Public School was started by HQ PH & HP Sub Area by converting the Golden Lion Primary School into Army High School with classes up to VII with strength of 264 children and 26 staff members. It was affiliated to CBSE upto class X in the year 1982. The name of the school was changed to Army School in the year 1984. The school was taken over by HQ 2 Corps and affiliated to CBSE upto class XII in the year 1985. It was re-designed as Army Public School in the year 2008. In the year 2018 painting and music (vocal) was added as an optional subject.
