ECHS was operationalized with effect from 01 Apr 2003 with an aim to provide quality medical care to 55 lakh ESM and dependents. To further maximize the benefits of the scheme, ECHS-SPARSH was launched by President AWWA on 10 Oct 2017, with a motto to serve those who served the nation. The project aims at sharing and caring for veterans in ECHS Polyclinics. It is a volunteer based programme, seeking volunteers from School/ College students, Veterans and their dependents. These volunteers offer their services to help out the veterans at ECHS Polyclinics. Volunteers with 25 hrs of meaningful volunteer service are eligible for the AWWA Certificate of excellence.
