ASHA SCHOOL, AMBALA CANTT

1. Asha School was established on 12 Jul 1995 at HT-02 & HT-13, Old Vet Lines, Ambala Cantt as an AWWA welfare project with an objective of providing a day care centre for the specially abled children of service personnel. The school has grown from strength to strength over the years and has carved a niche for itself in providing care and grooming Spl Children with a dedicated team of Special Educators, Therapists & Support Staff (12 x Teaching/ Tech Stff & 10 x Non-teaching staff). At present, the school grooms 37 specially abled children.

3. Visits

(a)

Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, VSM, GOC, 2 Corps & Patron, Asha School, Ambala Cantt and Mrs Anupama Pushkar, Zonal President, AWWA & Senior Convener, Asha School, Ambala Cantt visited Asha School, Ambala Cantt on 29 Jul 24. They reviewed the facilities of the school and interacted with students and staff.

Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, AVSM, GOC-in-C, Western Command, visited Asha School, Ambala Cantt on 01 Aug 24. They were accompanied by Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, VSM, GOC 2 Corps & Patron, Asha School, Ambala Cantt and received by Brig Manoj Lohani, Cdr, 785 (I) AD Bde & Col Bhanwardeep Singh, CO, 47 AD Regt. The Gen Offr carried out interaction with students and staff of Asha School and appreciated their efforts and contribution to the growth of these special children.
