VAYU RAKSHA ARMY PRIMARY SCHOOL, AMBALA CANTT

1. Introduction

In Jan 2022, the school was relocated from Panipat Lines, Ambala Cantt to its new location erstwhile APS Jr Wing, Durand Road, near Dhan Singh Thapa Enclave and subsequently re-organised as a Primary School. VRAPS falls under AWES and has adopted playway method of teaching where activity-based learning is the prime focus. Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is followed to ensure opportunities for holistic learning and growth.

2. Vision

“To Create Happy School Goers” who enjoy learning and experimenting while getting ready to face the world with confidence. Our aim is to facilitate optimum growth and development of a child’s full potential and to lay the foundation for all-round development and lifelong learning.

3. Details of Staff

VRAPS presently holds a strength of 635 students in 06 Classes (Pre-Nur to Class II) under twenty-four sections. The school has presently employed 29 Teaching, 04 Non-Teaching, and 24 Group-D Staff on adhoc basis including the Headmistress of VRAPS.

4. Facilities

At VRAPS, a special endeavor is made to follow teaching through activities which enables students to make meaningful connections among the different concepts and develop holistic understanding of the world around them. The following facilities are provided at VRAPS:

• Smart Class Rooms including Maths, Science, English & Computer Labs.
• Dance, Music & Art/Craft Classes.
• Sports facilities: Basketball Court, Football Ground, and a separate Skating Ring with instructor.
• Informative infrastructure parks such as Traffic Signal Park, Nature Park, Herbal Garden, Aquatic Zoo, Sensory Park.
• CCTV Cameras & Power Backup.
• RO Water Facility.
• Medical Facility.

5. Important Visits at VRAPS

(a) Visit of COS, 2 Corps

Lt Gen SN Mehta, COS, 2 Corps, visited Vayu Raksha Army Primary School on 18th Nov 2024. Mrs. Kiran Singh, Offg Headmistress, briefed him about the ongoing activities of the school as well as those planned for the next academic year. During the visit, the COS interacted with students and appreciated the school's efforts, motivating the teachers.

(b) Visit of BGS (IS), 2 Corps

On 28 April 2025, BGS (IS), HQ 2 Corps visited Vayu Raksha Army Primary School. Brig GS (IS) was welcomed by Class II students. Mrs. Kiran Deepti Jaitley, Headmistress, gave an introduction about the school’s history, strength, and fund status. He visited classes, interacted with students and staff, and appreciated their work.
