In our ongoing endeavour towards empowering our entrepreneurs, Southern Star #AWWA under the leadership of Mrs Komal Seth, Regional President Southern Star AWWA organised an event in collaboration with FICCI FLO to extend support and hand holding of the entrepreneurs from Sainik NareeShakti Udyogniti comprising a team of wives of Ex-servicemen from #Pune under Mrs Jyotsana Garge. During the event held on 05 Oct 24, Mrs Joyshree Das Verma National President of FICCI FLO and Mrs Pinky Rajpal, the President of their Pune Chapter along with their executive committee members displaying great solidarity by facilitating and enhancing the capacity and capability of our Naree Shakti Entrepreneurs provided requisite machinery for bulk production. This truly inspiring event with the assistance from FICCI FLO showcases our joint commitment towards empowering AWWA entrepreneurs.

Mrs Komal Seth, Regional President Southern Star AWWA, visited CommandHospital (SC) Pune on 02 Aug 24. She first interacted with cancer patients at the Malignant Disease Treatment Centre and Southern Star Palliative Care Centre and encouraged them. Thereafter, she visited Shravan, the only facility in Southern Command Zone dedicated to early intervention and rehabilitation of children with hearing loss, where she witnessed captivating performances by these children. She concluded the visit with an interaction with children undergoing various therapies at the Early Intervention Centre and their parents. Mrs Seth praised the tireless efforts of the entire medical team of CH(SC) for their exceptional dedication to patient care.

An interaction with 20 Veer Naris was organised at Southern Star AWWA Auditorium on 14 Jun 24 from 1130h to 1400h. The event included lec by gynaecologist from CH, Pune and lec on oral health by CMDC. Mrs Subeena Arora, Ex-officio Regional President AWWA, Southern Comd, interacted personally with each of the Veer Naris and felicitated them during the even. Veteran Cell from HQ DM&G Sub Area had also est a counter to address issues of Veer Naris. The event was followed by lunch in-situ.
World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Southern Star AWWA carried out tree plantation within the precincts of Comd Hosp, Pune with a touch of auspiciousness. A "Nakshatra Vatika" has been created wherein native trees aligned to each of the 27 Nakshatras were planted. To inculcate care for trees, children were encoureged to plant these trees alongside an adult, spouses of MG of HQ Southern Comd, women offr and wives of JCO's and ORs from Comd Hosp actively participated in the event. The tree plantation event was followed by Spl Family Welfare Meet at Charak auditorium. Tree sapling were also distributed amongst all attendees.

Mrs Subeena Arora, Ex-officio Regional President AWWA, Southern Comd, graced the occasion and handed over certificates to each participating child. The Southern Star AWWA Summer Camp was organised at Pune. A grand closing ceremony with fun and floric was held with participating children displaying their acquired skill and talent in a show full of enegy and enthusiasm. The Summer Camp was a great success with a total of 60 children of various age categories fostering lifelong bonds and with enriching experience.

A two weeks Summer Camp for 2024 commenced on 14 May 24 with a participation of 60 childrens of various age groups. The Summer Camp hosted a variety of educational, skill and talent development and fun related activities. The Summer camp successfully terminated on 27 May 2024.

Quarter final matches were held online on 27, 28 & 30 Jun 2023 by APS Dehu Road. Semi-final matches were also held online on 04 Jul 2023 by APS Dehu Road. The final match will be held on 11 Jul 2023 at Charak Auditorium, Command Hospital in physical mode between APS Pune & APS Bolarum.

A two days Exhibition cum Sale ‘Craft Connections Hamari Kahani Hasta Kala Ki Zubani’ was held on 24 & 25 June 2023 at SGS Mall Pune to showcase inspiring creations and talents of the Veer Naris and lady entrepreneurs. A wide range of handiwork and creative artifacts were showcased. The event was held under the expert guidance of Mrs Subeena Arora, Ex-officio Regional President, Southern Star AWWA.

The environment and sustainability month was kick-started with a musical program of patriotic vocals & music of the 60s, 70s, 80’s interspersed with dance by national award winner Padma Bhushan Sharwari Jamenis (Kathak). The pgme is called “Naad Rang” symbolising music and vibrancy of dance and amalgamation of our Indian tradition and culture. The theme of the performances was the seasons and association of four elements with nature. A Special Family Welfare meet at Charak Auditorium, Command Hospital was org on 02 Jun 2023.

To celebrate the environment & sustainability month, tree plantation by Ex-officio Regional President AWWA and Chairpersons Southern Star AWWA was org at AICTS Pune on 02 Jun 2023. The Eco Factory Foundation, Founder Mr Anand Chordia pledged 1 lakh trees towards the Indian Armed Forces, the Southern Command, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). To start the tree plantation, drive a ceremony was held at AICTS (Army Institute of Cardio Thoriac Services) on 2nd June 2023 followed by a music and dance performance depicting the five elements of nature and art.
