Army Public School

Army Public School (APS) is a chain of schools established for the education of children of Indian Army personnel. The schools are spread across the country and offer education from kindergarden to 12th grade. The curriculum is based on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and focuses on holistic development. With a range of extracurricular activities and experienced faculty, APS is known for academic excellence and discipline. There are total of 30 APS in Southern Command.



Army Pre-Primary Schools

Army Pre-Primary Schools (APPS) are committed to quality education keeping in mind all the domains of learning, building strong character to ensure that our students are transformed into a fine and confident citizen of our country turning them into good humans for building a healthy society and strong nation. Pune has nine Army Pre-Primary Schools which strive to provide this platform and ensure smooth transition for young toddlers to adapt for higher classes. There are total of 70 APPS in Southern Command.



Vidyanjali Scheme

Vidyanjali scheme has been emnbraced by all APS in Southern Command with great enthusiasm both by the management and the students. Student exchange programmes and aid government/municipal schools in terms of books, stationery, lectures, etc and is being carried out on regular basis.



Atal Tinkering Labs (Robotics)

Atal tinkering labs have been instituted in various APS in Southern Command to promote Robotics. It gives shape to vivid imagination of students and tinkers their creative mindset.



Workshop for Teachers

Workshops for teachers are being organized regularly as part of new National Educational Policy (NEP) curriculum. Key workshops that are being organized for teachers includes following:

1. NEP 2020 - Learning Pedagogies.
2. FDRC Workshops.
3. Early Intervention and Care for Children.
4. Nipun Bharat - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic at Foundation Level.
5. Implementation of Activity Based Learning.
6. Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO).
7. Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment (POSH).
8. Child Safety Workshop.



Asha Kiran

This project was inaugurated on 25 Mar 2019 to provide educational opportunities for the disabled/special children in normal schools so as to facilitate their retention in the school system.

  • Outdoor play equipment with synthetic rubber flooring
  • Sand pit
  • Wheel chair access to various rooms
  • Modified washrooms for special Children
