The Aastha and Brave Heart Cell was established on 22 Oct 2008 by Mrs Ritu Kalia, wife of Maj Gen A K Kalia. It was the vision of then President AWWA, who felt that the Veer Naris were an inseparable part of the org and we need to assist them in all possible ways. This cell is presently functioning at Integrated Welfare Complex (IWC) near MUPSA URC.

The cell has been looking after the problems of Veer Naris, Widows and dependents. Apart from providing counselling in marital discord cases the cell in also handling issues related to marriage part–II orders, CSD Smart Cards and dependent Card/ Medical Entitlements Cards etc.

As per MoD instructions, the Cell is now undertaking the cases of families of personnel posted under any Command, apart from wives/families residing in Central Command.
