Brief.

ASHA School, Kolkata was established in Sep 1992. The School is being run by HQ Bengal Area under the aegis of  HQ Eastern Command, AWWA. The school is being managed by OD Kolkata since 2008. The aim of Asha School, Kolkata is to provide education, care and rehab  to the differently abled children of defence personnel and civilians.

        Two Students (Sidhant Singh & Sonu Kumar) of Asha School Kolkata participated in Spl Olympic held at Solan (HP) wef 14-19 Dec 15 as part of West Bengal state team in National Floor Hockey Championship 2015  and won bronze medal.

(c)

Open Basic Education (OBE)

        Two children (Pragya & Sumit Sarkar) passed in three subjects (Environmental Science, Mathematics & Hindi) in Class V exam in first attempt in the year 2016-17.

Nature & Adventure Camp

         Children alongwith teachers attended ‘Nature &

Adventure Camp’ in year 2015 & 2016 and  actively participated in various activities.

‘One Little Finger’ (Documentary Movie)

         Shankha, a student of Asha School participated as a singer in a film on pers with disabilities called ‘One Little Finger’, on 02 Dec 2015.

Indo-Bangladesh bilateral Exchange programme

         An Indian delegation from Asha School Kolkata led by Capt Chandni Das alongwith four children and four supporting staff visited Bangladesh from 21 to 24 Mar 2015.

AWWA Awards of Excellence

         One parent volunteer (Mrs Sharmila Ghosh) and Two teachers (Mrs Sudeshna Basu & Mrs Maya Das) have recd AWWA Awards of Excellence in the year 2014 & 2016 respectively.

Bodhayan Sports Event  

        Seven 1st prizes, Two 2nd prizes and Four 3rd prizes were won by fifteen children of Asha School Kolkata on 18 Feb 2017

S’mayan (Drawing & Rangoli Competition)

       An inter school ‘Sit & Draw’ and ‘Rangoli’ competition named S’mayan was organised by Sushila Devi Birla Girls School,Kolkata on06 Dec 16. Miss Rakhi Kumari bagged the 1st prize in the ‘Rangoli’ cat.
